Physical Development involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and to make healthy choices in relation to food.
In nursery we support this by providing lots of opportunities for the children to be physical, they are allowed outside whenever they want, we will even go out in the rain if the children are dressed correctly, we have a climbing frame, bikes and trikes and a treehouse. We provide drawing and painting on large and small scales, inside and outside to develop pencil control. We also help and encourage potty training and choosing to eat helthy food. We have a rolling snack which means children have around 20-30minutes in which they can decide to have snack, they are also able to choose what they eat from the selection available.
